Problem after swapping a webcam

Postby pooky2483 » Sat Jul 18, 2015 2:19 pm

I am using 2 webcams and have bought a new one to replace one that is not working well in bright sunlight and I am getting 'Camera already in use by another application or filter chain'
I have tried unplugging and plugging it back in but that doesn’t solve the problem. I’ve tried deleting the webcam and creating a new 'profile' but that didn’t solve it either.

Hello!

Please check that your camera is not used by other applications (e.g. Skype or another). In this case you'll need to turn off all applications but Xeoma and try your camera.

Can you review video from camera in other programs?

Also please go to '+' menu - Add new camera manually - choose Device type: USB camera - choose your camera - press OK

Can you review your camera now?

Cameras are not in use by any other program.

I'm thinking the best way to solve this is to purge (uninstall) the program and all it's data from my computer and then re-install it.
If I do this, is it possible to move all the previously recorded video to another location and then after I have reinstalled Xeoma, move the recordings back to my default location?
