License question - Linux ARM server + Windows clients

Postby christ » Mon May 16, 2016 10:01 am

Hi there,

I just wanted to check if I've understood the licensing requirements before I make a purchase.

I want to install Xeoma onto a Raspberry Pi 2 to manage up to four IP cameras, with the primary goal of recording video to a hard drive if motion is detected on any of the cameras. I want to manage the server remotely from both Windows and Linux PCs.

  1. Will I be able to do this if I purchase the Xeoma Lite licence (for up to 4 devices) and activate it on the Raspberry Pi?
  2. Once I've connected the Windows and Linux PC clients to the remote server, will the clients keep bugging me that they're in trial mode? Or will they see that the server is licensed and allow me to do all the things allowed by the Lite licence?

Thanks for your time!

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your interest in Xeoma!

1. Yes, sure, Lite will do, it supports up to 4 cameras and remote access (admin profile only). Lite also has a limited set of modules, please see if you are fine with them.

2. The clients don't require licensing, only the server part does. Client parts are only showing information from the server. So, if you activate a license on the server, all clients connected to it will stop showing Trial and start showing Lite (or other commercial mode, depending on the activated license).

Hope this helps!
