Debian 8, trial, core only, not listening on 0.0.0.0

Postby gregory » Sat Apr 30, 2016 6:12 pm

Hi,

I have just downloaded trail standard Xeoma ver. 2016-4-8 for Linux 64bit, installed it with option -coreauto on Debian 8.3 (jessie).

I can see that it's only listening on 127.0.0.1:8090, how to make it listen on 0.0.0.0 ?

We would like to run it headless on Debian 8 and connect to it crom MS Windows and Mac OS X clients to manage and through web interface to view.

Thank you in advance for your help.

How do you know it's listening on 127.0.0.1 only? Have you tried connecting from a remote client? All versions should support remote access, except the Free version does not.

Code: Select All Code
# netstat -lnp | grep LISTEN
tcp        0      0 0.0.0.0:22              0.0.0.0:*               LISTEN      427/sshd
tcp        0      0 127.0.0.1:8090          0.0.0.0:*               LISTEN      1182/xeoma
tcp6       0      0 :::22                   :::*                    LISTEN      427/sshd

Code: Select All Code
# ./xeoma_trial_standard.app -h | head -3

Xeoma version 2016-4-8

That seems strange to me. It appears you have the trial, which should allow remote access. It's possible this is a bug in that version. I'm also using this version, but I have a licensed copy and remote access works fine. I'd either email support or try an older version. Support usually responds within 24 hours.

This is a forum, so why help per e-mail and not here!?!? I'm having the same problem. Downloaded latest Xeoma Trial for Linux 64bit. Starting xeoma.app gives only

Code: Select All Code
# netstat -nlp | grep xeoma
tcp        0      0 127.0.0.1:8090          0.0.0.0:*               LISTEN      7158/xeoma.app
udp        0      0 0.0.0.0:4200            0.0.0.0:*                           7158/xeoma.app

So: what has to be done that Xeoma listens on 0.0.0.0???

Hello!

Did you install Xeoma using -install -coreauto command? Was it successful?
(Trial version of Xeoma resets settings within 4 hours and after restart, so there's no need to install it during testing, because Xeoma works without installation as well)

Please try -showpassword command. It allows remote access in Xeoma.

Forum is a place mostly for our users to communicate. Email will help to solve the issue faster ;)
