Accept incoming connections?

I am using xeoma on a Mac (10.7) and every few minutes, I get a pop up message asking if I want to accept incoming connections, even when xeoma is not running. My question is, why is my system asking if I want xeoma to accept incoming connections when I am only using the software locally, and apparantly xeoma is not even running as I have quit the application? How can I get rid of this annoying message. Is xeoma a safe application to run n terms of internet security?

I am using 2 x IP cams on my LAN and archiving video to my mac's local hard drive. I have no wish to access the software from outside my LAN.

Also worth mentioning; the pop up window flashes up on the screen sometimes only for a split second before disappearing again (too quick to see what it says but having seen it so many times, I am sure it is the xeoma window).

Once you get the pop up again, there should be an option for you to remember that rule once you get that in the future. Ar there any?

What version of Xeoma do you use? Are there any USB cameras in use?

We assume that it's not any of Xeoma's windows, more probably it's a firewall message that asks to allow the program to work. As far as we can see in the Internet, the problem with this window appearing usually for a split second so that no choice can be made so far has no solution. What you can do is add Xeoma to allowed programs manually in system configuration or switch off firewall at all. Pressing Esc while the pop up window is on screen might also help deny remote connection.

Xeoma is safe, it does not contain any viruses, malware or spyware. You can run a security scan at site: virustotal.com at any time.

Xeoma consists of two parts - server (processing cameras) and client (visual part that you see when you run Xeoma). When installed, server works all the time with your OS while client can be on or off. So, basically, Xeoma works even when you switch it off (if you want to stop it completely, you need to either uninstall the server through main menu in Xeoma or go to Task Manager and stop it there).
