Help with visitor counter

I have been looking for a camera management software for some while now and finaly fount xeoma. I have been trying the trial to see if the functions I need is avalible. I need a way to be able to count number of people in the different rooms at my home. I saw that there where a visitor counter but it does not look like it worked the way I wanted as you only had the option to count line-crossings.

If two people enter a room and one of them leaves again 1-directional-counting would say that there is 3 people in the room and if one person enter a room 2-directional-counting would say that there is no person in the room.

In other camera software I have tried you draw two lines and the order a person breaks the line tells if the person is entering or leaving. Is this possible ? I want to be able to send the number of people in each room by http post every time there is a change.

You can use 'Cross-line detector', for example. This module lets you draw a virtual line and is triggered if the drawn line is crossed. This module is capable of detecting the direction of movement and counting how many times the line was crossed in certain direction. Connect this module in a chain after the “Object Detector” module where you selected the detection zone, object size, etc. required settings. In Cross-line Detector’s settings start dragging a line in the camera preview box. Ends of the line will have green dots, click on one of these and drag the line to change its position. The line will also have a red triangle showing the direction the moving object should be moving in to trigger the alarm. Click “Toggle direction” to change this direction. If you have several lines, you can select the needed one with the “Select line” dropdown list. Tick “Show count of visitors” to make Xeoma count how many times the lines were crossed in the chosen direction.
