I would like to store my camera output on an external USB HDD. I want to make sure I get one that is fast enough.
Will any USB 2.0 / 3.0 HDD with a hard drive inside that is 5400RPM work? I think they generally get about 50MB/s write speeds. How do I know if that will be enough?

The average value is correct, but sometimes it decreases.
However, the image of the camera is average 1 Mbps or less at HD 10 fps.
Converting to Bytes, it is 0.125M.

Thank you for the answer. I guess I need to figure out what the through put of a USB 5400 rpm HDD would be then.
