24.7.9 upgrade lost camera configuration, program activation

Was running previous version. At startup was notified of upgrade availability. Upgraded to 24.7.9. On program restart no cameras were displayed. Searched for and found all cameras. Camera module configuration is reset. Noticed it is running Trial version. Attempted to re activate register but get message "Can't save the activation file on disk. Please make sure that Xeoma folder has the rights to write, and that there is enough disk space there."

1 - Upgrades shouldn't lose all the information. I now will not have recordings for several hours as I get the activation fixed and cameras reconfigured. Is there a quick way to do this? Maybe there should be a way to back up camera configuration information.
