usb capacity issue ?

Postby Albuquerque » Fri Aug 02, 2013 12:14 pm

I am using Xeoma commercial. I have hooked up 3 cameras and I am getting the following: Warning! Delay updating the image from video
source. I tried changing the camera settings and also the usb port. We are running Vista Home Premium (32 bit) with USB 2.0 port.
Is this a usb capacity issue ? Please help. Thanks.

Looks like the bandwidth issue. We suggest you to try the following:

1) Try to lower down resolution and fps rate from all cameras and see if they start to show image then, all at once.
2) Try to connect your cameras one by one: once one camera is connected and starts to give image, proceed with another and try to
put it into ports until it starts to show image, too. Then comes the third cam. This way you might be able to find different USB
controllers (or hubs) and solve the issue. Please pay attention that USB port is not the same as USB controller. You may also want
to consult your motherboard documentation to find out where USB controllers are.
3) Try to use USB 3.0 (if any).
4) Perhaps buying a PCI card (might be quite cheap) with additional slots will be helpful.
