Motion detection search issues - Pro License

Hello,

I'm a new user.
I am running Windows 7 64bit O/S and using XEOMA v 15.12.8. - a pro license.

The only source is an external IP camera, which it has detected no problem and I am able to view it and set up the basics for dection and recording...etc.

So I am trying to search detected motion incidents in the archive ( I have set the motion detection areas using the brush settings accordingly and set to record continuously). This is the main reason why I got this software.

When I set up my parameters, I also noticed that regardless of the sensitivity settings and object size settings, I see random green motion squares and rectangles appearing all over the view ( in my static driveway ...on the ground - where there is no actual movent occuring to make it detect anything. On the larger, deliberate objects, it 'sees' these and 'green frames' them accordingly.

So when I come to view the archive, I set the rectangle area to search for motion incidents. It then seems to find ALL the tiny random 'green false motions' squares...etc in the WHOLE of the screen...all over the view and not just limited to just the section I am interested in. Why could this be? It seems the detections it finds are hundredss of every single little area ( the anomallies I mentioned before)....not tied to my predefined areas. This is no good to me!

Why does it pick up all this 'noise' and not stick to the parameters of the particular object size I defined?

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Hi Big_AL,
do you use RTSP protocol or mjpeg? I suggest to use mjpeg for throubleshooting. I had some kind of green areas issues on a camera (a very cheap one) which come from rtsp (supppose ehternet interface was unable to manage throughtput).

hmm - ok - I will look into that - thank you. Any ideas on how to check / change to mjpeg?

So was the RTSP protocol generating 'artifacts' giving false readings for you?

Thank you korniza... :-)

you' re welcome.
I m also a user who loved Xeoma a few weeks ago (also Pro lisenced :D )
you have to advice the url that xenoma discovered for your camera. if you use rtsp your url on camera settings will look like this : rstp://carera.ip.addr/...
little googling will give the urls that supports your camera model.
RSTP using UDP packages that have no flow control so if lost/corrupted data inside a frame appeared you may get strange image artifacts. instrad mjpeg is TCP, has lower bandwidth but it has a correction.
Does your camera is connected via WIFI or LAN?
if it is connected via WIFI, can you try to plug in with LAN cable and check if you still get green pixels?

Hello!

What version of Xeoma do you use? Do you use Client/Server Xeoma of the same version?

You can check 'Motion detector' module's settings to see if your module says 'Skipping' in green when there's motion that you don't want to see in the archive - this means that you might need to change object size/sensitivity etc.

If you experience problems with Xeoma and need help, you can contact us using different ways (e.g e-mail, Skype etc.): http://felenasoft.com/xeoma/en/contacts/
