Motion search question

Does the motion search area have to be in the original motion search area used to record?

I have a video with a busy street in the top half of the video, and I have that area highlighted to record motion. The bottom half is my yard with no motion. While watching the recording I noticed a cat in my yard and wanted to do a search on it. I selected the area I know the cat was and it search really fast and with no results. Is this because the bottom half was not in the original search area?

You need to set the motion detection area on your yard and increase the sensitivity, then xeoma will catch your cat when it moves again in your yard.
Xeoma does a wonderful job in search for motion and it is the fastest software i've ever seen.

Hello! Yes, in order to do a motion search within a certain area, this area has to be within the motion detector's range. You can set a single detector to watch several different spots on a single camera, if you so desire.
