17.5.5 Win10 Client unresponsive

Postby EvansJD2112 » Tue Jul 04, 2017 8:22 am

I have 17.5.5 standard with 4x cameras attached.
Server itself is fine and accessing using the Android app works great.

But, I have 2x Win10 64bit clients that I want to access the server.
I've installed Xeoma on both and connected to the serve.
Both take >1min to connect and performance is terrible.

All cameras are ethernet connected and all PCs are connected by 1Gb wired network into the same hub.

No performance issues in any other application

Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Hello! Please make sure that you are using the latest drivers for your GPU on the client machines. What is the CPU load on the server and on the clients during the connection? Have you tried running a GPU stress test on the clients? Occasionally, Windows 10 refuses to render things normally (not sure why, this behavior is exclusive to this OS so far). You may also want to try setting the standard theme for Windows, if you have a different one selected - sometimes it solves the rendering issue.

After lots of trying various things I've fixed the issue.
All I needed to do was enable Jumbo frames (9kb) on both server and client and performance is back to how it should be.

I also updated the nic drivers to the latest, just to be sure and turned off all that Green ethernet stuff!
