Own License-Server on Raspberry Pi

Postby berfroid » Sun Jan 14, 2018 1:35 pm

Hello,

due to very much hassel with the License Activation of Xeoma on a Virtual Machine, I want to setup a own License Server on a Rasperry Pi. Could anybody please post a Link to a Manual/Howto because I can´t find Information how to install and setup a License-Server.

@felenasoft
Maybe you should reconsider your Licensing. You have to protect your Software, I see, but Xeoma should please not stop working immediatly when Internet-Connection is interrupted due to Problems with ISP. Please let Xeoma record further and maybe encrypt the recordings until License is activated. And the worst in my case: Often when Connection ist lost for longer time (2 Hours i.e.), not only the activation ist lost, no, I cannot reactivate without reset the Licenses. Yesterday I reached the Point, where resetting is impossilble. "Sorry, automatic reset is not available for this serial number. License resets limit already exceeded."
Very annoying...

Hello! Installing the license server is as simple as using one console command from the list: sudo ./xeoma.app -install -licauto
Once this is done, simply make sure that both your VM server and the license server can reach each other via the local network using port 8090.
More on this type of activation here.

That is not the case. Once the VM server loses Internet connection, Xeoma will keep working as usual for 24 hours. Once the connection is restored, the timer will stop. If Xeoma stops working on your setup after connection lost before 24 hours, please make sure that the VM configuration remains the same.
You can also describe the issue in detail at support@felenasoft.com - we'll test it in our Lab.
