Cropping with straight edges...

Postby sgnow1 » Sun Jun 24, 2018 12:38 am

I'm using the cropping module to capture some mountain images for a time-lapse movie. When I draw out the area of interest, I always have jagged edges (guess my hand isn't perfectly steady as I move the mouse). Is there a trick to crop with straight edges (like holding some control button while moving the mouse to lock X or Y as fixed)?

Hello! Currently, there are no other ways to create the area. Thank you for the suggestion, though, we'll find a way to simplify the process.
For now, you can make straight lines by changing the Brush size and aligning the resulting square with the edges you need. Then simply click once to mark that square.

Thank you... that is exactly what I ended up doing. I've seen some painting programs that use a CTL key to lock the X or Y value to allow dragging a straight line. Thank you for thinking of this as a future feature.
