Editing all the settings outside the client

Is there any way to just use some sort of editor to do quick changes, or bulk changes to the settings?
Or maybe just a way to view them?

No, right now it's impossible at all due to security issues, everything is encrypted.
You can do bulk changes with the “Open group settings” option in modules’ detailed settings (top left corner). It allows applying group settings to all modules of the type.
And JSON can help you with some automation.
