Replace HHD

Hi there

Got a ubuntu server running xeoma and I am in the process to replace to hard disks for bigger ones but I don't want to loose the already recorded content.
So what I did is took out the disks and hooked them up to a ubuntu desktop PC to copy all the contents from the old disks to the new ones.
I could see all the files in the old disks but when I tried to copy them I got a permissions error.
What is the right way to do this thing?
Thank you in advance

Hello! We have a guide for similar situations, it's called "Moving Xeoma video surveillance program records", try copy-pasting this in the search box.
Generally, if you see a permissions error, you will likely need to change the default permissions via Terminal (see "chmod" and "chown" Linux commands).
