PTZ troubles

I have cameras that use pelco D format to control PTZ - and I can't get them working in xeoma. The cameras do PTZ from other software, but I want to use xeoma!

I got my cameras to work in other applications by adjusting the baudrate, which needs to be 2400, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity... where can I do that in xeoma?

What exactly is the cameras' make and model?

Also, what version of Xeoma do you use?

The cameras are SCW 2200 analog PTZ cameras. I should mention we have an Axis M7014 4 channel video encoder that handles the analog cameras, and drives them with a RS-485 connection for PTZ. To the DVR the Axis looks just like an IP cam with 4 streams.

For troubleshooting I have a manual joystick and the cameras are all good. Also, our old software does PTZ the cameras perfectly, it's just terrible to use for everything else.

I've set the PTZ port to 80 in camera setup. When clicking on the PTZ button it displays a popup that says PTZ isn't supported, and asks for a port. Entering a number appears to have no effect, and no PTZ controller is ever displayed.

I also have some Toshiba IP PTZ cameras that do PTZ in Zeoma.

I've set the camera URL for the cameras that don't work like this:

http://user:password@192.168.121.240/ax ... i?camera=1

Interestingly, when I change the URL to a different stream, it causes the camera to PTZ to a new position!

I'm trying out Xeoma 32-bit on Ubuntu 12.10 32-bit.

I also have access to Windoze 8 on 64-bit hardware, so I downloaded Xeoma and tried it with the same results (no PTZ).

Thanks for your help!
