Hikvision Bullet 2632 cameras- event stream

Hello, I have been trialling Xeoma (the Beta version) on Ubuntu 14.04 with clients on Mac and Linux (Suse) and 8 of the above cameras. Things are quite good so far. However, the continuous real-time streams from 8 cameras running at maximum resolution is too much for the network and for my server unless I use low frame rates like 1fps.

So, my question is: Can Xeoma make use of the camera motion detect and only process the stream after a Camera Event? In other words, can Xeoma work with an ONVIF Event Stream and if so, what would be the correct URL format to configure in Xeoma? I am happy to run some tests if no-one knows if it works or not but other than simple snapshot and streaming URLs I have not been able to find any magic URL formats for event streams.

Thank you,
David Kerr

PS- the only things extra I would like to see in Xeoma are (a) the option to zoom when replaying archive files and (b) the option to play from several archives for several cameras all at the same time.

Hello!

Unfortunately Xeoma can't porccess the stream only after a camera event. The stream is being recieved constantly and is not associated with motion detector.

You may try to use FTP upload feature of your camera. In some cases it sends stream only as a reaction to motion detector. In Xeoma you can recieve such stream with FTP reciever module. Please give it a try to see that if it works for you.

These features will be added to Xeoma in future.

Another option could be using HTTP-switcher in case the camera can send the HTTP-command when a motion detected with camera's own detector (IR-sensor, for example).
