Activation Failure

Postby apollothethird » Tue Nov 19, 2013 4:19 pm

I had a problem with my installation and tried redownloading and installing. I can't activate the application. It's giving this error message:

xeoma activation server error already activated wrong hid

Thanks in advance for any help. After having run the security application for a few months, I'm anxiously feeling vulnerable without it.

Please try to activate it again now. It must be accepted this time.

Did the re-installation help you fight the issues you encountered?

Yes. Something happened where I was getting to a screen that was saying waiting for camera. It's working now.

I have two questions while trying to get back to were I was. First, I can't find a way to specify the name of the camera. I had given the camera a specific name so that I'd know when something had happened that I wasn't seeing my setting. The camera is showing as "Cam_A0". I thought in the past there was an option to specify when you clicked on the camera. But I only see the three options, Device type:, Available cameras, and Image resolution. Maybe there is a different screen that I had seen before. Can you tell me how to get to that screen.

Also, to avoid having to spend so much time if I have to reconfigure again, can you give me the steps for importing and exporting configurations? I'll test saving my new configuration and reinstalling again, to see if I can quickly get my preferred settings back. I have had this problems a number of times. I've also experienced problems when testing options where I wanted to load a previous setting.

The name of the camera is set not in camera's settings, but in Preview and Archive module settings. To rename the camera fast, you can click on its name on a main window. The Preview and Archive settings will be then opened automatically, and you can change the name right there.

To replace the settings you need to do this:

Go to the Xeoma folder and copy the settings.dat file to a safe place. Then remove the file from Xeoma folder and see what happens when you next launch Xeoma. Then turn Xeoma off again and replace the newly created settings.dat file with the old one, the one you saved to a safe place. The settings will be restored.

Thanks for providing this valuable information. I was walking on eggs shells, very concerned for having to reinstall again. I have done it numerous times and each time spend a long time getting the new install back to my preference. I had set the camera name many times, however this time I couldn't figure out what I had previously done.

So, now, I have it back perfect again, and have a method of quickly and easily getting it back perfect if I experiment with the settings and develop a glitch.

Have a nice day!
