Email delay

Postby lytledd » Fri Dec 27, 2013 1:41 pm

Hello,

I've purchased a Xeoma 4 camera license. Setup the software with 1 camera and set it to send me an email with attachement on motion. To prevent from being spammed on false positives, I've set a 2 hour delay between email (Does this actuallay do what I'm expecting it to do?).

My problem seems to be that, on motion detection, it may be from 20 minutes to 2 hours before I actually get the email. My setup below:

Camera: Vivotek IP8332 (Using MJPEG @ 1280x800)
Server: Ubuntu 13.04 64Bit (ESXi5 Virtual Machine, with two 4GHZ CPU, 2GB memory)
Filesystem: Mounted NFS drive to my NAS. Tried it with a local filesystem as well, no difference.
Xeoma: 13.11.22

Suggestions would be welcome;

Thanks,

Doug

Hello!

If you configure "E-mail" module with the interval for two hours, you will receive messages with attachments every two hours.
If you need to receive messages only after movements, and without any false positives, you can reduce the interval and set up the optimal amount of attached images (one on each movement). You can also reduce the sensitivity of the motion detector in "Motion Detector" module, or set up an "Object Size" in the same module.

Is there a place where we can post a wish list?

I'm coming from another application, that had this. It was just a check, if I've already sent an email in the last x number of minutes, don't send another until that time has expired. I've moved to Xeoma because I wanted to get rid of Windows completely.

Thanks!

Please write your wish list directly to our tech support.
We will be happy to know about the features you want to see in Xeoma!
