Memory leak?

Postby Diggs » Fri May 29, 2015 12:02 am

After one of the last updates, I'm seeing a memory leak in xeoma.exe. After boot, the program (xeoma.exe) starts out using around 59,000 KB. After a week it is using 280,000 KB. After a month it crashes the computer every time due to page fault using well over 1 GB of memory. I didn't see this behavior until the last update or maybe the one before. Anyone else seeing this?

Hello!

What version of Xeoma do you use? How many cameras do you use in Xeoma?

Version 15.2.25 (Commercial) with only three cameras.

As I said, it seems to be a recent issue starting with the last update or two.

Hello!

If your license allows (was purchased less than 1 year ago), then you can update to the latest beta version, where such problems might be fixed. You can find new beta on our web site. If you need beta version that was released earlier, then you can contact us via e-mail: support@felenasoft.com

Remember, that you should update to the new beta manually (in the future versions it'll be possible to update automatically), it means that first you'll need to uninstall Xeoma with settings saving (launch Xeoma, go to Main Menu -> Install -> Uninstall -> Uninstall except for archive and settings) and after that you can install the new beta version of Xeoma. This way all your settings will be saved.

I installed the new release (15.6.10) but the problem remains. I thought I would keep track of time and memory usage so I could get an idea how long I have between reboots. I see there are two instances of "xeoma.exe" running so I tracked them both.

Date
xeoma instance: amount of memory being used

Initial boot (6/15/2015)
xeoma.exe #1: 69,500 KB
xeoma.exe #2: 59,150 KB

6/16/2015
#1: 121,660 KB
#2: 5,994 KB

6/17/2015
#1 121,760 KB
#2: 6,152 KB

6/18/2015
#1: 151,775 KB
#2: 6,412 KB

6/19/2015
#1: 190,610 KB
#2: 7,732 KB

6/20/2015
#1: 219,190 KB
#2: 6,336 KB

I'm sure you know which is the server and which is the client (not that it matters). As much as I like your software and have been recommending it personally and through my business I'm going to have to find something else if this memory leak issue isn't resolved.

Thanks for all your help.
