Xeoma ARM 32 export video

Postby vpdr » Sun Apr 24, 2016 10:03 pm

Hello,
I'm trying to setup a small system on a Raspberry PI 2. I almost get everything working but i can't figure out why i can't export in any format except .xem file. At first i tought the problem depends on the lack of ffmpeg, and since i'm on raspbian 4.1.x i had to compile it from source, but it still doesn't work.
Can anyone help me troubleshooting this problem? I'm also trying to find out how to enable logging, i see ther's the flag -log to append to the process, but i can't understand how xeoma start autonomously at boot time (no init.d, no systemd service...)

Thank you in advance!

I just found out, analyzing the behaviour of the linux version, that when you ask for conversion it actually calls /usr/local/Xeoma/Additional/ffmpeg_213_160322.
Unfortunately this file is missing on the ARM version (it exists but it is empty). I tried to link to ffmpeg 310 but it still doesn't work.
Any idea ?

still can't figure out how to turn on log

Hello vpdr,

You did a great job researching the issue on your own! So far Xeoma doesn't have ffmpeg for ARM that's why you can only export in .xem (MJPEG). ffmpeg for ARM will be available in one of the future versions of Xeoma (planned for end of May). Please subscribe to our newsletter to get announcements and list of changes when new versions of Xeoma are released.

If the version with this feature is needed urgently, please contact us by email.

Regarding your questions about logs, we provide 2 types of logs: 1) when you launch Xeoma with the -log key (users and system notifications), 2) in Problems Detector module (errors and system warnings). Hope this helps!

I'm also unable to export from archive.
The latest version 16.6.6 is giving me still the same problem.....

Anybody solved this problem or still not possible with this Xeoma on Raspberry?
And for the time being no option to export "movie" at all?

johnB,

For now only export in .xem format is available on ARM devices. Export in H264 will be available starting from the new beta version. Please subscribe to our newsletter to get notification and list of changes when new versions of Xeoma are released.

My guess is very few customers are using the ARM 32 version, and I'm also going to guess there's bigger issues to fix.
