Postby Admin_V » Tue Oct 25, 2016 4:15 pm

Xeoma is already available on our site!

Our developers have made a lot of work to bring you improved performance and many amazing features: new modules such as Smoke Detector, Detector of Abandoned Items, heat map, TLS secure connection and many other. At your service are also upgrade from Standard to Pro, useful articles, and a new partner program! See for yourself:

PRO improvements:

-Added Detector of abandoned objects. It can be used to look for unwanted vehicles, or objects in an area such as for example restricted territory or railway station;
-Added Smoke Detector. It will help you automatically detect if there’s a fire or smoke in the camera’s field of view;
-Added heat map. Now you can quickly review where the most of motion occurs (for example, in a shop). See this feature in Archive menu –> Heat map;
-Xeoma Pro Your Cloud mode can now be launched from Xeoma UI. Create your own Video Surveillance as a Service system;
-Multilayer eMap: now you can have several maps to put your cameras on, and switch between them in a single click;
-ANPR: you can now use your own third-party utility for license plate recognition, and choose where to store the suggested OpenAlpr utility. See more about setup.
-HTTP Marking can now be seen in live-view windows, as well as searched for in the archive with the ID.

Important additions:

-You asked – we made it happen. New type of licenses will help you upgrade your Xeoma Standard licenses to Xeoma Pro licenses. Check them out;
-Added TLS secure connection between client and server. See instructions in Xeoma folder > Security > Certificate > Readme.txt;
-Added Xeoma version for ARMv8 (64 bit);
-Added setup of cameras' URLs via Web Server browser page;
-Archive: Added visualization of sound events on the archive timescale. Now you can quickly review all the events detected by Sound Detector;
-Time zones! Aw yiss, we finally made it! We added the automatic switch to the daylight saving time and back;
-Added Picture-in-picture to embed a dynamically updating picture from one camera into another’s view box;
-We have added a new option in the Purchase page – now you can buy Xeoma Pro licenses with 3 years of updates already in package;
-New partner program: get 7% off purchases made by your customers back in cash! You can notify us about purchases yourself or use the affiliate link to track purchases automatically. See more here

Improvements:

Improved performance of camera stream decoding under high CPU load;
Archive: accelerated loading of archive database.

New Cameras:

Added support for PTZ of the Beward BD75-1 cam;
Added support for 4-lens cameras Arecont Vision AV8185DN and AV20185DN.

Time zone has been finally fixed but archive playback is not working for me. I can go into archive but video is not played back. It just shows static frame.

I'm seeing another problem with archive, a good part of the last day is missing from it.

Me too have issues with tine zone. Playback cursor can go 2 hours in the future and the playback seems to be shifted. Tested in a win 10 environment, by connecting from Android.
Timezones are correctly setup in xeoma client and server.

Wow, we don't seem to be able to repeat the issue. Could you please send us to tech support some details:
1) What version of Xeoma did you have before the update to the beta?
2) What OS is Xeoma used on?
3) What camera settings do you have in Xeoma? We're not after any sensitive data like passwords, you can blur it. But settings on the whole are important.
4) Are there archive files still being written on the disk while they are not viewable in archive player?

1)I was previously using 16.8.17. The only problem with that one was the DST issue
2)Server is 64 bit Linux, client is Windows.
3)I have nothing special for camera settings. But a screenshot is attached below.
4)Yes, they are still written to disk. I can see new files in the archive directory that are only minutes old. If I wait until the next day, the previous day's video is available in the client.

OK I decided to give it another chance and I did clean install of new beta. This time everything is working fine, including time zone and archive playback. Previously I did upgrade from 16.8.17. My system was Ubuntu running from Docker container on Synology NAS. Now I installed new beta under CentOS 7 also running from Docker container. So I'm not sure what actually helped, different system or clean install.

It's all ok for me now. After deleting the settings file and redo all the config from scratch, my issues are gone. Thank you Xeoma support.

It seems that doing a complete reinstall is what fixes it.

Hi

Could you please explain exactly what you mean by complete reinstall?

I downloaded the install package, ran it, selected install, to install over the top of the existing install. This does not seem to have fixed.

Do you mean I have to uninstall? Do I need to manually delete any folders or files? And then install again?

In doing this can I keep my archive and can I keep my settings? How would I do this? It will be a pain to set up from start again because many cameras all with individually set motion areas and settings etc.

To Felenasoft - will there be an upgrade that will fix the issues without having to do the complete reinstall?

What I did was run "xeoma -install -removeall", but at least for Linux, this can also be achieved quite easily by deleting some directories and also deleting or moving the archive.

I already tried moving the archive and restarting the server to force it to recreate it, but the issue persisted. So I got tired of it and moved the archive to a different directory and set everything back up again from scratch. It wasn't fun but it fixed it. One thing I didn't try was deleting (or better yet, rename) the settings.dat and restarting it to see if only setting it back up, but keeping the archive, will fix it.

It's unfortunate that this is required. A reinstall of this magnitude shouldn't be required when upgrading from the previous version.
