Amazon S3 for video backup

Is anyone using Amazon S3 to backup the archived videos? If so, how did you accomplish this? Are there tools that work nicely with Xeoma or did you write your own separate script?

I don't want to use the Xeoma cloud because I am already using Amazon S3 for other purposes.

Hi,

Xeoma can record on a local/mounted/system disc. You can e.g. use DropBox and synchronize a folder there as a mounted disc in your OS.
You can use necessary path in 'Preview and archive' module's settings.

Currently, you can not use external Cloud storages like Amazon, Google Drive etc.

With Linux, you "might" be able to, although I'm not able to test it out as I don't use Amazon S3 nor do I want to signup for it to try.

Though, I do not know if it is still possible with that. I know Amazon closed down one application that allowed people to do that with Amazon Cloud accounts, claiming to be a security issue. So, there's a slight possibility that you can mount a Amazon S3 drive as a local mount point on Linux and use the file saving module to save it there.

I do a similar thing, but with a hard drive connected to my router.

But I'd probably say that sometimes, it's just easier taking the service offered by the application you use.

Checkout "Cloudberry Backup" - the free version will perform continuous backup of a local folder to S3 and many other services. Paid adds some nice features, but not essential.

Point it at your local archive and have it sync that to the cloud.

Runs on Windows, Linux and Mac, although I have only tried the Windows version.
