How to setup email notifications?

Postby cryptyk » Tue Jun 19, 2018 1:42 pm

I saw the note in the documentation about hooking up motion detector to email alerts. I think I understand how it works: If you set email frequency to 30 minutes and email 2 frames, then the motion detector will only check for motion using two frames every 30 minutes.
That's definitely not what most people want when they set it up that way.

How can I setup a flow that constantly checks for motion, but won't send more than one email alert to me every 30 minutes? I want to know when someone enters my house immediately, but I don't want to be bombarded with emails constantly until they leave.

Thanks,
Ryan

Isn't this the "Time between messages" in the email module?

It's not. If you set time between messages to 30 minutes, it will grab a frame at 15 minutes, then another at 30 minutes and compare them for motion detection. I know that sounds weird, but that's how it works.

I was able to put it together using an http switch and two http senders: one that fires immmediately and one that delays by 30 minutes.
