HTTP Request Sender not sending on Event Ended

Postby skylord123 » Tue Aug 14, 2018 3:41 pm

I am using the HTTP Request Sender to track when motion is happening for my cameras. I use my cameras to turn on/off my outdoor lights at night. I noticed that the lights have been staying on and further investigation shows that the HTTP Request Sender is not sending when an event ends (it works most of the time but every now and then it doesn't send) so my Home Assistant app thinks that motion is still occurring and keeps the light on.

Please get this fixed. This is one of the main reasons I use Xeoma.

Also what does "Sending interval" under the HTTP Request Sender do? I've looked everywhere and cannot find a good description of what this actually does. Being a web developer this option is very confusing (does it send the event after that many seconds? Does it time out if the request takes that long?)

Hello!
skylord123 Wrote:Also what does "Sending interval" under the HTTP Request Sender do?

This slider has 2 modes:
1) if at a fixed interval is chosen - the module will send the specified command at that exact interval
2) if when event started or when event ended is chosen - the module will treat this as a limit for triggering: if the detector triggers more than once within that interval - only one command will be sent

Thank you, we've managed to reproduce this in our Lab.
Could you also post a screenshot with the chain of modules for this?

This is currently in the works, so it shouldn't take more than a week.

It's been a month since I last posted. Is there any update on this? I have implemented a fix in node-red to fix cameras that don't send an end event over 10 minutes but this is a ghetto fix.

This is pretty important for my setup.

This has been fixed. If you need the fixed version posthaste, feel free to shoot us an e-mail - we'll send you our beta (could have a few minor imperfections though, we haven't finished all the tests yet).
