FTP upload question

Postby heink » Sun Jun 16, 2013 2:58 pm

Hello,
Currently testing xeoma (Win and Linux) to replace my old VMS.
It works well so far but causes some trouble with the FTP uploading. The module, located after a motion detector, uploads a file to the server every x minutes. Is there any way to upload a file not in an interval but after it is "finished".
Something like: Motion triggers -> file is recorded -> No more motion and post record done -> immediately upload file to ftp.
So this file would only contain the video associated to the motion that triggered its recording and not triggers before/after. Shorter upload interval times are no real help as I've had videos from one trigger split into multiple files.

Unfortunately, no, there is no option for that in Xeoma yet. But it's a good idea and if you are willing to wait, we'll gladly add this feature in one of the future versions.

Adding this feature would be absolutely brilliant, definately worth waiting for as Xeoma is already a really nice piece of software. The day Xeoma uploads one-file-per-event I will for sure buy it for at least 16 cameras.

I highly appreciate that you consider adding that upload option, thats great! :).

Hello,

I was just wondering if this option is already available?
I'm using Xeoma on Ubuntu with a cam on my front door with motion detection activated.
Currently FTP uploading with interval is activated so that pictures are uploaded to my webserver. An automated gallery tool is showing the pictures. But takes a lot of time to load because because of the many pics. Uploading only once motion is detected seems a more better option, just to save space and I don't wanna see pictures which aren't detected by the motion option

The reason why I upload everything is that ... if someone is stealing my pc from home with all recorded pictures on it.. it's useless
